LARGEST RIDING SCHOOL IN WORLD New York equestrians who have, long been accustomed to calling Durlands riding academy the largest in the world will be surprised to learn that the late Duke of Portland built one considerably larger than Durlands for his private use at Welbeck Park, in the County of Nottingham, England. This school is nearly four hundred feet long and more than one hundred feet wide, with a glass roof containing 28,000 square feet and illuminated at night by 10,000 gas jets. Adjacent to the school is a covered gallop more than one thousand feet long.
