VIGILANTE had to be hard ridden to outstay RUBIDIUM. The latter began slowly and finished fast. PRIDE OF INDIA stumbled and fell while rounding the far turn and DUKE JOHN fell over him. FLARE came again and was gaining on the winner in the last sixteenth. SMITHFIELD tired after making a game challenge when going to the thirteenth jump. CLARABELLA worked her way up from a slow beginning on the outside and finished fast after being forced wide vheh entering the stretch. ROSE OF ROSES ran well and saved ground on all the turns.
