INCREASE IN LAUREL PURSES MONDAY LAUREL, Md., October 17. Horsemen participating at the meeting now in progress at laurel Park were much pleased with the announcement of the Maryland State Fair that beginning Monday there will be no purse less than ,500. Already tills association has distributed over 40,000 among the horsemen during fourteen days of racing, making the daily average distribution slightly over the goodlv sum of 0,000. With no purse less than ,500 the dally average distribution for the remainder of the meeting will be even greater than during the first half of the meeting, and there Is a likelihood that all previous records lu thla re-I spect will ,be broken.
