MICHIGANS MANY HUNTING LICENSES During the year 1918 the State of Michigan issued, exclusive of deer licenses. 10,000 gun licenses. Already this year the state game department has distributed 223,000 licenses to local deputies and others "authorized to sell them, and there has been such an insistent demand for the permits recently that State Game Warden John Baird lias placed ah order for 100,000 additional tags.- One reason for the unusual demand for hunting licenses this year is the fact that the season on fox squirrels, which lias been closed for the past ton years, was opened for two weeks. Also thousands of young men who had never before handled firearms were taught the use of tin; rifle while in the army, and they are anxious to keep in the practice on small game now that the season on Huns has been permanently closed. , e
