CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF Advices from Maryland are to the effect that the Havre de Grace track will be completely remodeled before the spring meeting of 1020. The good colt High Cost, in the stable of J. A. Guncheon at New Orleans, will be ready for an early start at Jefferson Park, as h- is in prime bodily condition and only needs a few days of slow t-antering exercise -to 1m? -seen -at his best. High Cost should prove a tough proposition in the handicap class at both Crescent City meetings. i It. L. Baker, who a few days ago handed in his resignation as manager of the Lexington track, intending to retire from racing, is resting easily at Louisville after an operation and his physician says he will be able to leave the hospital in about ten days. One of the last of the sons of Mintins, and one of the best, died in England last month. Itj was Minstead, twenty years old, by Minting Liglithead, by Zeol-at. He- was not much of a race horse, but was a good brood mare sire. Lord Harewood owned and bred hitn.
