HUGE CALCUTTA SWEEP SWINDLE English Sharpers Sell Half a Million Dollars Worth of Spurious Tickets. The world-wide Investments in the famous Calcutta sweep was recently taken advantage of by a gang of swindlers, who flooded England with alleged Calcutta Turf Club tickets. The refusal of the Calcutta Turf Club to pay on these tickets lias only just become known in London." The repudiation of the bogus tickets was a tremendous shock for those of their English holders, who flattered themselves they had drawn prizes. Genuine tickets for the sweep can only be obtained through members of the Calcutta Turf Club.
