January 10— John Kvans. who died here in hi- seventy- fifth year, for the past twenty year- had been financial agent of the fa mou- Seagram racing -table-. The late Mr. Kvans was a native of the south. Ix ing born in Virginia. where hi- boyhood days were spent. From hi- early youth he was a lover of hor-es. and hi- interest never waned He took pari in the Civil War after joining the Seagram stables. He was thoroughly versed in all matters of the thoroughbred, and his advice was eagerly sought.
