January 3.— The Epsom race course i- undergoing great improvement, the management committee of the Jrand Stand Association showing it-elf most anxious to carry out any m-c-e-s -sary work. Since the last summer nu-e-ring much has licen done to the race course, and people living in the- vicinity of the Downs state- that the turf is in a better stale- for races than it has b.-en for twenty years. Of particular interest to the racing world will bo the information that an alteration has beea effected at TaHenham Corner. This has always had the reputation of being dangerous, and with a view to removing any actual danger there may be the irregular nature of the Carre at this corner ha- been altered. Now there is an absolute curve an absolute segment of a circle. Ixircl Laaadahl and the ins|H-c tor of race courses have- approved of the alteration.
