ORDINARY CARD PROVIDES GOOD SPORT Well-Barked Horses Score at Oriental Park — Thrilling Finish in Second Race. HAVANA. Cuba. February 13.- Well back, d horses won a majority of the race- at Oriental Hark today and. despite the ordinary r aimer of the contestants, the snarl was enjoyable to the surprisingly large crowd thai taraed out for an off day. In this race I.eenraek was looked upon with considerable favor, but at no time showed anything to warrant such distinction. For the second race Plata Heather wa- the offending favorite, but in thi- case there were contributing factors, ina-mui-h a- -lie was considerably interfered with. Little One set the early pace and although headed at one stage came again and. standing a hard drive gamely, drew away from the other- near the finish. Laura Miller had a strenuous battle to secure the decision in tin- third race at three-quarters of a mi!-. In this Sophie K. shewed f oaaldf I suit early speed, but railed to hold her advantage, while Laura Miller and Top Knag, under rigorous riding, just managed to gain their respective positions at the finish. The speculating portion of the spectators again had cause for rejoicing in the fourth race, when Daiaty Lady got off in front and held her advantage throughout. F.I ITonawH tried gamely to get within striking distance of the leader, but at Hi lime loomed dangerous. However he held second money safe. Chai-onnette II. in the fifth, at one mile and fifty yard-, cait-ed more rejoicing for the speculators. Laying off the early pace until reaching I he far turn, -he came on when shaken up and moving up steadily outstayed Our Maid at the finish. The latter -howi d a god effort. a
