LAW ABOUT MARYLAND RACING VOTE RALTIMOKK Mel March 23 AttorneyGeneral Armstrong of Maryland based his opinion that the reference of racing in the state to i vote of the people was unconstitutional on a decision handed down by the Court of Appeals in 1S 1 in relation to the taking of oysters in Somerset County In this case the act was to be submitted to the voters of Somerset County The court held that the matter of taking oysters was a stitewide question over which the legislature alone has power As I sec it the law is plain on the subject declares Mr Armstrong I
