GLOOMY TURF OUTLOOK IN ONTARIO TORONTO Out April K The directors of the Ontario Jockey Club met yesterday afternoon with Col William Hendrie of Hamilton president in the chair Sir John Hendrie Major Joseph Kilgonr George W Heardmore K F Seagram Major R 1 Christie and Dr I K Smith also in attendance A K Dyment was the only absentee absenteeTin Tin new provincial tax was discussed but nothing was decided upon Contrary to expectations the board did not resolve to go ahead with the Wood ¬ bine meeting and it looks like waiting for some ¬ thing lo turn up The racing situation as far as the Ontario Jockey Club is concerned is at a stand ¬ still and this morning appearances are that there will be no meeting at Woodbine Park ParkNothing Nothing was said concerning another meeting other than the regular meeting of the board and tiie Canadian Racing Associations has not been called together Throughout Ontario the track and horse owners are enshrouded in gloom Hamilton Fort Krie and the Windsor tracks art sure to follow the Ontario Jockey Clubs lead Those behind the Toronto halfmilers say that tin C doO per day tax will put them out of business
