VALUABLE MARE GOLDEN VIEW DIES LEXINGTON Ky April 21 Major August Hel monts valuable thoroughbred brood mare Golden View is dead at the Nursery Stud as the result of foaling a dead filly by llouress Golden View was a sister to Fair Play and Flittcrgold and a half sister to Friar Koek She was the dam of Hock View Sim was sent to France in PJ12 and was returned to the Nursery Stud in 191S She leaves no yearling or twoyearold and was the last of the laughters of Fairy Sold SoldNorman Norman Mncfarlnno arrived last night from Mon ¬ treal He says the actions of the farmers govern ¬ ment in Ontario which is seeking to impose a 100111 daily tax on racing in that province will not be duplicated in either Quebec or Ottawa The country said he wants racing but it wants it controlled to the extent that it cannot be made the means of great profits for shareholders in the racing companies 1 feel sanguine that out of all the discussion there will come ultimately healthy legislation and that the country will have the sport much after the manner of New Zealand
