HUNTING FISHING AND SPORT T V Kelsey who has been game and fish conser ¬ vation warden for the past eight years at Stevens 1oint Wis and given great satisfaction has been appointed Tnited States game warden for the entire state of South Dakota The Wisconsin Conservation Commission not wishing to part absolutely with Mr Kclseys services istead of accepting his resignation granted him a leave of absence for 1 year and if at tin end of that time Mr Kelsey is not satisfied with his new position he can return to Wisconsin and assume his old duties dutiesThe The Pillings Mont It oil and Cun Club has ordered from the federal hatcheries 1100000 game fish fry which will be planted in tlie streams of Yellowstone County in the near future These fry will in a measure be used to replace the thousands of fish that died last year after being carried out into the fields through irrigating canals connecting directly with the streams Last year the loss from this source became o appalling that the stock of fish in many of the streams was greatly reduced and sportsmen were forced to hunt new fishing grounds in streams not furnishing water for canals of this sort In an effort to minimi the loss as much as possible the state is this year furnishing screen to be placed at the head of each canal
