ALL READY AT BEAUTIFUL SARATOGA Secretary G If Bull Tells of Improvements Made Wonderful Lighting System Installed NEW YORK N Y June 1 SecretaryTreasurer George II Hull of the Saratoga Association has re ¬ turned from a trip of inspection to the beautiful plant at the Spa SpaWe We are virtually ready to race now said he as superintendent Clare lias kept the track in condition ever since the snow disappeared The new entrance off Union avenue is completed and i is going to give satisfaction to racing folks as tho parking arrangements have been worked out ii a way that will enable the largest crowds to be handled without delay All the parking will be done on the property acquired last year and the system will be the same as that in vogue at Van Cortlandt Park in 1917 on the occasion of the great military tournament when the record showed that 05000 cars were handled without confusion There will be wide avenues and the cars will back into their berths from these An officer will be lo ¬ cated at the head of each of these avenues which will be designated by letters and whenever a special car is needed a call will be issued for it The desired machine will simply move into the avenue and on to the clubhouse for its occupants The street railway will reach the upper gate over the route it formerly occupied but passengers by this route will alight at the upper gates gatesWe We have deemed it best said Mr Bull not to complete the beautification of tho new terri ¬ tory this year and most of the flowering shrubs and plants will be put in the ground this fall after our meeting is over or next spring It is the in ¬ tention to replace the poplar trees every where by sturdy young elms of which we have an abundant supply most of them on parts of the property where they can be spared sparedThe The entire plant is a model of its kind and reflects credit on superintendent Clare Much has been done to increase the comfort of the horse ¬ men Electric lights have been put in the stables at Horse Haven and that portion of the course which in former years was hardly in keeping with tho newer addition is as bright and clean as the most faultfinding person could desire The steeple ¬ chase course has had particular care and no mat ttr how dry the weather may bo there should be good footing for the horses especially at the land ¬ ing places which were rather hard in former years yearsI I have been going to Saratoga for many years paid Mr Dull and I never saw the place so beau tful The new system of street lighting which will be installed prior to the opening of the races will bo the last word in the form of illumination It was worked out by the General Electrics ex Irert Mr J DAvery Papin who was responsible for tho beautiful lighting effects at the San Fran ¬ cisco Worlds Fair
