READY FOR BUGLE CALL Racing to Be Resumed at Fort Erie Next Saturday Rehabilitating of Plant Across Acrossfrom from Buffalo Is Completed Fine Meeting in Prospect BUFFALO N Y June 29 After a cessation of the si ort for three years thoroughbred racing will be resumed at the Fort Erie track next Sat furlay July 3 when the Niagara Racing Associa ¬ tion will inaugurate a program imequaled in this history of any race track in Canada its overnight offerings being the richest put fortli by any asso ¬ ciation on the Canadian circuit circuitFor For weeks track experts painters carpenters electricians and others have been rehabilitating the plant across the river and everything including the course proper is all ready for the opening It is predicted that owing to the highclass program and the rich purses offered the best horses in America will compete during the meeting In fact they are already entered in the various stakes of the association Most notable however is the entry f Man ° War the greatest race horse on the American turf today The Glen Riddle Farm has entered the son of Fair Play in the Canadian Derby which will be decided on the fifth day Thursday July S Others in the Derby are Paul Jones winner of the Kentucky Derby and the Sub ¬ urban Handicap Blazes his stablemate Peace Pennant owned by W F Poison of Buffalo Dam ¬ ask and AVildair owned by If P Whitney Prince PaT Giniagh er R6yarJcster aiuTKIiig Thrush from the 1 K It Ross stable Travesty owned by H II Hewitt of Buffalo and many others othersThe The opening day fixture will be the Niagara Stakes for twoyearolds Among the entries to this event are Iaby Grand Star Voter Silent Wesf Intrigante Jacobina Pampas all owned by J K It Itoss W F Poisons Pattern II Tulletts Ikey T II P Whitneys Greenland Whippet and Moody Some Baby from Hal Parrs Stable J It Austins Jean Corey Advocate Slip Along Hadherway all from the stable of H II Hewitt of Buffalo and John S Keardon Louis Adair and Grumbling Mac representing J W Schorr and a good many others of equal caliber There will be seven races on the program open ¬ ing day including besides the Niagara Stakes the Lafayette Hotel Purse for threeyearolds threeyearoldsFort Fort Erie has over 700 stables and accommoda ¬ tions are promised to all who ship to that place for the meeting The Niagara Hacing Association boasts of more stalls than any other track in Can nda The announcement that no purse of less than 1200 will be offered and that the overnight pro ¬ gram will be the largest ever given in Canada is attracting much favorable comment among the owners of horses horsesFor For the benefit of club members a inntuel ma ¬ chine has been installed in the clubhouse and mem ¬ bers may park their cars in the clubhouse in closure closureArrangements Arrangements have been made for six trains on the Grand Trunk and a fast and improved ferry service during the races
