BRADLEYS PLEASING DAY AT LATONIA Takes Two Good Races Throush the Speed of Iwin and Brotherly Love BY J L DEMPSEY DEMPSEYLATONIA LATONIA Ky June 29 K R Bradleys horses figured extensively in this afternoons racing his Brotherly Love and Iwin accounting for a double including the feature race a mile handicap with 2200 added Iwin was the victress here and her success was of the lucky variety for Minto II seemingly was much the best and witli an equal division of racing luck would have reversed the verdict witli tin winner His trouble began right at the start when lie bumped against Beaverkill and the impact almost unseated Wilson and caused Minto II to be last to round the first turn Mean ¬ while King had rushed the Bradley filly into the lead with Atta Boy II and Woodtrap her nearest pur ¬ suers At tin half mile ground Wilson sent Minto II up with a rush but his move was faultily jiliiged for he was cut off badly and again forced back Woodtrap tired on the stretch turn and Atta Boy II also showed signs of distress and at this point Minto II having closed a gap loomed lip menacingly but Iwin held to her task steadily and passed the finish a neck in advance Minto II beating Atta Boy II by a small margin for second place The victory of Brotherly Love was achieved in easy style in the second race in which maidens contested He drew away in the stretch after having followed Refugee II closely closelySmall Small fields but evenly matched ones and in gome instances bringing out the better grade here resulted in a continuation of good sport with sev ¬ eral of the finishes close and exciting excitingThe The opener brought to the post some former cracks and it developed a rousing last sixteenth duel between Jack Hare Jr and Bullion with the latter just managing to triumph in the final strides Sands of Pleasure might have been the winner here but for swerving out badly in the stretch stretchAphie Aphie Dear which is rapidly developing into a topnotcher had an easy time landing the third race from six either twoyearold fillies She disposed of Pekoe with ease after going a half mile and won under restraint Mary Jane Baker coming with a rush in the stretch overhauled Pekoe in the last few strides stridesClintonville Clintonville which recently worked a fast three quarters was given steady support in the fourth race although Bon Jour was an oddson favorite lintonville ran as if much the best for she came around the others and won cantering with Bon Jour in second place having been taken wide into the stretch and forced to a hard drive to outstay Sweet Liberty the early pacemaker
