JACK HARE JR. IN RETIREMENT AGAIN LOUISVILLE, Ky.. Aug. 4. Judge Charles F. Price, who served as a steward at the recent Windsor and Kenilworth meetings, lias returned to his home here and will remain until time to go back-to Windsor for the second summer meeting. Judge Price said that both the Windsor and Kenilworth meetings were the best ever held at those two tracks and he never saw people as eager for racing as those in that section. Racing secretary William H. Shelley is engaged in making the conditions for the Rlue Grass Fair races and the program book will not be long in making its nppenrance. The fair will be held early in September and this will give many horsemen now racing in Canada and New York a chance to get buck in time for it. Charles" F. Husehemeyer, former owner of the fast horse Hawthorne, departed yesterday for Saratoga. He plans to spend the entire month of August at the Spa, and it is his intention to purchase a few yearlings at the sales there. Trainer Dave Vititoe had Madras Gingham fired since lie brought her buck from Lntonia. She will be ready for autumn racing. Jack Hare Jr. was not taken east by trainer Kay Spence, but instead was sent to Lexington to spend the summer. This horse went wrong early in the spring and had to be let up, but was bronghti back to the races at Latonia. His feet bothered him toward the latter part of that meeing, and Colonel W. E. Applegate. his owner, decided that another rest was in order for hinu He will bte raced again in the autumn if lie will stand training. Jockey Dave Nicol did not go to Saratoga with tWe J. S. Ward stable, but returned here for the sunJ-mer. He is still down to a low riding weight unjd Will be fit and ready when Lexington opens.
