BELAIR STUD YEARLINGS POPULAR EIGHT YOUNGSTERS FROM THAT MARYLAND BREEDING ESTABLISHMENT BRING THE LARGEST AVERAGE AT TUESDAY NIGHTS SALE AT SARATOGA SARATOGA, N. I., August 11. There was a noticeable slump in trices realized for the choice yearlings disposed of Tuesday night at the Fasig-Tipton mart. Ij, might have been due to the inclement weather, which caused a decrease in attendance, but in some quarters there was a disposition to accredit the paucity in bidding to stringency in the money market and general inactivity op. the part of former liberal buyers. There were thirty-six youngsters to go under the hammer, and they yielded a grand total of 8,300, an average of 81,897.22. The yearlings in most cases came up to all requirements in the matter of size and lineage, being by such noted sires as Rock View, Trap Rock, Wrack, i Light Brigade, Ballot, Peter Quince, The Manager, Dick Finnell, Heno, Trevisco and Frizzle. j The consigners comprised the Belair stud, the Hartland stud J. N. Camden, the Bosque Bonita stud, the Larchmont stud and Mr. Kenneth D. Alexander. The Belair studs lot of eight i head brought the largest average, they selling for a total of 22,800, an average of ,850. The btar in this consignment was the slashing looking colt by Wrack Medora II., which S. C. Hil-dreth secured at a cost of 0,500 after a spirited bidding tilt with Dr. McCully, who was acting for Mrs. Payne Whitney. Mr. Hildreth also secured a grand looking colt by Trap Rock La Recclte, for which he paid ,100, the second highest price of the sals This youngster was in the consignment of Kenneth D. Alexander. The eleven head from Mr. J. N. Camdens Hartland stud yielded 0,850, for an average of 1,804.54. The stars of the lot were the colts by Light Brigade Yolancia and Peter Quince Alsike, each selling for ,500, respectively, to J. C. Milam and A. J. Goldsborough.
