Won easily; second and third driving. BANKSIA at once rushed to the front and, setting a fast pace, won in a canter. SCOTLAND YET was a prominent contender for the entire race nd finished gamely. PERFECTIN gained steadily on the inside and outstayed ATALA in the final drive. The latter was under vigorous riding from the start, but ran disappointingly and tired in the stretch run. MISS PETITE showed early speed. DEWEY EVE was in close quarters to the eighth post and was not persevered with at the end. The last four were easing up in the closing strides. SERVICE STAR set the pace and raced into a long lead while rounding the last turn, but tired in the stretch and could not withstand the winners challenge. The latter raced under slight restraint and on the outside of the leaders in the early running and finished fastest of all, but failed to quite get up. LORD BRIGHTON displayed great speed in pacemaking, but tired in the final drive. TIPPITY WITCHET was outpaced, but ran a good race. COURTSHIP had no mishaps.
