ENSOR STARS AT AQUEDUCT Takes Five of the Days Races and Is Second 1 in the Sixth. NEW YORK. N. Y.. September 17. Beautiful autumnal weather attracted an unusually large attendance to Aqueduct this afternoon. The Potomac, an overnight handicap, featured the program. Jockey Ensor was the bright particular star . of the racing, riding the first five winners of the day and finishing second in the sixth race. He guided Thunderstorm to victory in the handicap. Fair Gain was second and Arethusa third. The latter was the pacemaker, but she bad enough when Fair Gain and Thunderstorm challenged in the stretch. The latter displayed his usual speed at the finish, winning by a good margin. Fair Gain finished gamely although lie was giving away too much weight to the winner. Ballet Dancer 11. was far behind for the entire race. Jockey Ensor made it a third straight win when he piloted Yellow Hand to victory in the third race. Georgie, the heavily backed second choice, took second place and Whisk was third. Yellow Hand, under restraint, followed Whisk and Georgie until the field straightened out in the stretch, then came on to win easily by three lengths. Georgie disposed of AVhisk in the stretch drive and was in front of the Ogden colt by two lengths at the finish. Tippity Witehet, which is right at the top of his form again, easily disposed of a band of good horses over the six and a half furlongs route in the second race. Leading Star set the pace, followed closely by Afternoon. Jockey Ensor laid back with Tippity "Witehet until an eighth out, when- he sent the little racer to the front easily. Afternoon outstayed Leading Star for second money. Sea Mint, which won his last race, ran disappointingly, finishing last. The talent failed by a head in the opening dash for maiden two-year-olds when Coca Cola, tiring right at the finish after leading all the way, allowed Clare Frances, a fine looking filly by Love-tie Amelia .Tenks, to beat her by a head in the closing strides. The winner was ulways the closest attendant, to Coca Cola In the early running. Lady Stella camefast ,i the lasCeightlt-.toV hjat-Ja. mattrelle for" Third place. Silerieia; a "first-time starter, showed early speed.
