WEDGWOOD showed the most early speed, but was taken back on the far turn and saved, then took the lead in the homestretch and gamely withstood OMER K.S challenge. The latter closed a gap gradually and made a fast finish. SEGUROLA rushed into the lead on the far turn and came wide when entering the stretch, then tired, but outstayed MACHINE GUNNER in the final drive. The latter was under restraint in the early running, but failed when called on. for a final effort. GREAT GULL followed the leaders for the first three-quarters under restraint, then moved up rapidly when called on and, taking the lead on the stretch turn, held the race safe to the end. ARMISTICE was saved behind the leader under a stout pull in the early running and, finishing gamely, outstayed DIOSCORIDE. The latter ran well, but was tiring at the end.
