FINE OPENING AT TIJUANA Winter Meeting in Far West Begins Auspiciously Stakes Close Today. SAN DIEGO, Cal., November 25. Before one of the largest gatherings ever seen at the Mexican course across the boundary line ,the winter meeting of the Lower California Jockey Club was inaugurated today under most favorable auspices. The racing was interesting and thoroughly enjoyed by the big crowd. Entries to nine of the valuable stake races to be run here during the winter will close for entries tomorrow. These stakes are . the Los Angeles High-weight Handicap, ,500, three-quarters mile, for all ages; the San Francisco Handicap, ,500, one mile and seventy yards; the Tijuana Business. Mens Handicap, ,500, one mile and a sixteenth; the Mexicali Handicap, ,000. m one inlle and seventy yards; the Far West Handicap, ,000. three-quarters mile; the San Ysldoro Claiming Stakes, ,500. one mile and seventy yards; the Oakland Claiming Stakes. ,500, three-quarters mile; the Sacramento Handicap, ,500, one mile, and the Speed Handicap. ,500, five and one-half furlongs. The more valuable stakes to lie run at Tijuana will close on December 11. These are the 0,000 Coffroth Handicap, a race of one mile anil a quarter; the Baja California and V. S. Grant Hotel Handicap races of 0. NX each at one niile and a sixteenth and one mile and aii eighth; the ,000 Tijuana Derby, a race of one mile and an eighth for three-year-olds of 1921; the ,000 San Diego llusiness Mens Handicap, a race of one mile and a sixteenth; the ,000 Tijuana Cup. a race of two miles; the Tijuana Futurity, a ,000 race of four and a half furlongs for . two-year-olds, and the ,500 Juvenile Stakes, a race of a half mile, for two-year-olds.
