CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF George Odom has hopes of bringing King Plaudit back to the races next year, sound and fit. The Marrone stable has several yearlings by Glen-cairn quartered at the Gravesend track. The eight-year-old gelding Pierrot has been a busy and successful campaigner this year, winning fourteen races out of forty-six starts. Horses are galloping daily over the Belmont Park training track, a condition unusual at this time of the year, but due to the mild weather. The winter colony at the old Kenning track in Washington is quite large and includes among others the horses of E. B. McLean, S. Ross, J. W. Healy, M. Brady, R. Miller, J. W. Bean and E. Trueman. A well-known English newspaper says: "The American steeplechaser Duettiste; belonging to Mr. J. E. Widener, has run his last race-in the States. He is to be sent on to France to compete in the big jumping events there." J. W. Healy recently secured the jumpers Sou-niangha and John Douglas from George Brooke III., the Pennsylvania turfman, and ,is wintering these along witli :v dozen belonging to John Lumsden, the Canadian owner, at Bcnuing.
