CHANGES IN THE TURF AND FIELD CLUB XEW YORK X Y March 1C The Turf and Field Club will reopen early in May for the en ¬ tire season under greatly improved conditions Through an arrangement with the AAestchestcr Racing Association Increasing the revenue of the club many repairs and improvements to the club ¬ house once the home of the exiled Louis Phillippe of France will be made The beautiful grounds famous for their fine specimens of box cedar and I ebanon and other rare trees will be made still more attractive with additional plants and flowers flowersUnder Under the changed conditions of the Belmont Park course the races hereafter are to be run in the direction customary in this country The new paddock will adjoin the club grounds obviating the former long walk to the old club stand and pad ¬ dock A portion of the new section of the grand ¬ stand and lawn in front of it close to the finish line will be reserved for members their guests and members of the Jockey Club ClubAt At the recent annual meeting of the club all of the retiring officers were reelected These are K Stnrgis president Henry W Bull vice president John E Cmvdin treasurer John G Livingston secretary II A Buck assistant sec ¬ retary
