HILDRETHS DAY OF GLORY Wins Three Races at Jamaica with Rancocas Stable Horses Captures Kings County Handicap Handicapwith with Mad Hatter L Fator FatorShares Shares Honors with Him NEW YORK X Y May 7 S C ITildreth was in his glory today that famous trainer saddling the winners of three races at Jamaica including the victor of the Kings County Handicap the outstanding feature of a splendid program that crowded to the doors the popular home of the Metropolitan Jockey Club ClubThe The first of the Hildreth successes came in the opening dash when the Hancocas Stables black colt Timbrel a son of Zeus Black Swan making his first appearance under colors scampered home two lengths in advance of Miles S with Kate Brum mel in third place Then came Krewers sensa ¬ tional victory over Peter Piper in the Richmond Handicap the Hancocas Stables standard bearer overtaking the speedy Greentree Stables repre ¬ sentative in the last eighth and outgaaning him in a hotly contested finish finishWhile While botii of these conquests were unexpected the triumph of Mad Hatter over the great Exter ¬ minator was foreshadowed by the confident support accorded the Hildreth horse in the Kings County Handicap At post time Mad Hatter had displaced Exterminator being backed down from 2i to 1 to 8 to 5 Mad Hatters vict9ry was easily achieved MB went to the froilt with the rise of the barrier and quickly opened up a commanding lead which he easily maintained to the end Exterminator ran his usual game race and after being reserved during the early running closed with great si ced and easily held Yellow Hand safe although never seriously threatening the winner L Fator rode all three of the Hildreth horses and his work was excellent in every respect respectThe The Richmond Handicap was the real contest of the afternoon Peter Piper dashed into the front at the start and set a dazzling pace running the half in 40 but his heavy impost told when challenged in the final eighth and great was the surprise of the crowd Fator brought Krewer alongside of the favorite and after a vigorous finish carried off the honors in the last few strides stridesFavorites Favorites were successful in the two concluding races the Quincy Stables Elmendorf taking the fifth easily and Good Times from J S Cosdens string proving best of the twoyearolds that met in the sixth sixthMACOMBER MACOMBER EXPECTED HOME SHORTLY SHORTLYA A persistent rumor was circulated at the course to the effect that A K Macomber and W T Wilkinson are expected daily from Paris but George Strate who is training the Macomber horses at lielmont Park and others in close touch with the California however have no confirmation of the report reportKenneth Kenneth K Karrick will train the Oneck Stable horses and those of W R Coe during the con ¬ valescence of his father William H Karrick The elder Karrick recently returned from Hot Springs wlieie he has been recuperating from an operation and has recovered sufficiently to pay a few visits to lielmont Park but lias not yet taken In the racing at Jamaica JamaicaW W B Jennings is an arrival from Washington He recently retired from active participation in the training of thoroughbreds but announces that the call was too strong to be resisted resistedRobt Robt L Gerry and his trainer George Odom will take a trip to the Blue Ridge Stud at Oxnard Farm in Virginia to look over some yearlings Mr Odom announces that the horse King Plaudit lias been withdrawn from the sale here Monday to obviate the possibility of his being bought by some one who will try to train him since lie will not stand Mr Odom believes this is the best horse lie ever trained outside of Purchase An effort will be made to dispose of him for stock purposes purposesThe The Pelican Stable has engaged jockey K Haynes to do its riding from now until December 1 for the main division of the stable which will be cam ¬ paigned on the eastern tracks by J G Wagnon A Canadian division eight strong has been sent ncroKs the border This lot consisting of Dai wood Goldcrest Boy Ballyboll War Club Mary Head and the twoyearolds Dissolute Despera ¬ tion and The Cigarette will be trained by Walter Richey with F A Nolan as stable agent Edward Dolling is doing the business of tiie stable in the east There are fifteen horses in the eastern string including End Man The Boy and thirteen twoyearolds
