Evidently the English Jockey Clul has been pleased to allow Mr. Corrigans horses to be prepared at Newmarket, where it is difficult for new owners to be located. Dawson Waughs chief patron at present is Lord Howard de Walden. Waugh some years ago was responsible for the preparation of Tagalie, which won the One Thousand Guineas and the Derby, and he also trained Louviers and Louvois, both of which were beaten a head in the Derby. Waugh is one of the best trainers in England, and Mr. Corrigans yearlings .vil! be in good hands, so that their future career will be watched with interest. A winner of interest to American breeders is Branxholnie. a two-year-old filly, by Oliver Goldsmith Noowa. She won the West Biding Produce Stakes of ,500 at Pontefract on July 0. This is "lor second success. Noowa is a daughter of Meddler, and has already produced iu England the winner Zea. At the last Newmarket December sales she was purchased for the account of Mr. Brownell Combs of JSelair, Lexington, Kentucky, The mare -was then in foal to Oliver Goldsmith, and has produced a good colt, which is a brother to Branxholmc.
