DEL0RIMIER PARK FEATURE TO CHEFA MONTREAL, Que,. August 9. Favored by good racing luck G. Foleys Chefa captured the Amherst Handicap, which featured the card at Delorimier Park this afternoon. At the end she was under a hard drive, however, to outstay the fast closing Horace Lerch, with George W., the pacemaker, a tiring third. American Eagle tired under his heavy impost and Slippery Silver found the route too far. In the Hopeful Purso, a secondary feature, Ca-cambo was never headed and Adopted Daughter scored an easy victory over Helen Major in the race for two-year-olds. For disobedience at the pest jockey E. Smith was today set down for the remainder of the meeting. Miss Horner was so badly cut down yesterday that her racing days arc probably terminated. After having the horses Itunfra and Orleans Girl loaded in preparation for shipment to Hagerstown they were attached for a feed bill, and are now located at the stockyards at St. Henri for safe keeping. Charles Henry has been engaged- as clerk of the scaled and associnto Judgo. for. the Quebec. Hunt Club meeting. Norman Macfarlane will be presiding steward, and Sheridan Clark presiding judge. About one hundred horses will be shipped from here to the Quebec City meeting.
