Won easily; second and third driving. BLUE BELLE displayed the most speed throughout, set a fast pace and won in a canter. LIBERTY GIRL raced in closest pursuit all the way and made a game finish. OCEAN SWELL slipped through next to the inner rail on the stretch turn and outfinished SURMOUNT. The latter raced gamely, but tired near the end. MONASTERY bolted shortly after the start. FLYING SCOUT followed the others under stout restraint until in the last half mile, when he moved up steadily on the inside and outstayed ROYAL ARCH in the final drive. ROYAL ARCH, well ridden, closed up dangerously in the final drive, but succumbed to the winners challenge. AVISEST FOOL raced forwardly for the entire race and finished resolutely. ARARAT set a great pace, but could not withstand the winners challenge. VALOR raced in a forward position for the entire race, but could not keep pace with the leaders when called on for a final effort. AVAR XOTE ran spasmodically. ELECTED II. was eased up on the last turn. SWEEP CLE AX could not improve his position. CIMARROX raced poorly. The winner, entered for ,000, was bid up to ,000 and sold to S. Louis. The latter raced closer up than usual in the early running, but tired in the final drive. ROUTLEDGE tired badly in the stretch racing. JOHN PAUL JOXES showed a good order of speed and raced BAYAVOOD into defeat in the first three-quartets, then held gamely through the stretch prove his position when called on for the final effort. lOLYTHIA was taken hack in the first prove his positio nwhen called on for the final effort. POLYTHIA was taken hack in the first quarter and raced under a pull on the outside of the leaders all the way. BAYWOOD set the. pace to the far turn, but quit in the last quarter. SUNREIGII set a fast early pace and held on gamely to the final sixteenth, where he tired. PIETRUS raced forwardly and wtis not persevered with in the last eighth.
