Ky., March 5. — Al Smitha today received a wire from Willian Dupont. Jr.. of Wilmington. Del., closing negotiations for the stallion Irish Gentleman, by MeGec. to become a sir.- of hunters at his dace. He will be shipped to Wilmington this week. James II. Baker formerly Inflamed Irish Dfath man He gave Smitha a half latere*! in him at the close of his racing career. Last fall the partners decided to flip a coin as to which should own him entirely and Smitha won. 11. C. Carter of Athens has farmed to Phil T. China for the season of 19L,-J the mares Butn Carter, by Handset, and Anna Sweep, by Sweep. Both are in foal to The Manager. Manager Barry Shannon announces the arrival of two foals at Col. F. It. Bradleys Idle Hour •tock farm. Both are bay colts, one by Brown Priaee, from Sweet Alice dam of Bradleys Choice and B::s. Signall. and the Other is by North Star III.. Iroiu Serellia. Mess.s. William A. Shea. Walter J. Salmon. Thomas- Healey and Thomas- Welsh, all of New York. are bete today. Shea came from New Orleans, where lie has been all winter with a string of fourteen horses. Shea also has here a number of mares which he is brcediug to Tea Caddy. One of the mares, Teher. however, is to go to the court of North Star III. at Col. F. K. Bradleys Mai Hour Stock Farm this sea-on. She has at heel a fine black filly by Tea Caddy. Walter J. Salmon oauie from Florida to attend to the matter ol" selecting a man to take the management of his breeding establishment at the Pettit farm, which he has under lease. The vacancy was created by the recent death of William Huston. Messrs. Healey and Welsh are here to inspect the thoroughbreds in the breeding establishments of their employers, Messrs. 1J. T.
