BRAZILS RACING EXPANSION Native Owners Buying English Horses for Use in Rich Stake Events. LONDON, England, April 6.— Brazil is following Argentinas example and is buying ready-made race horses in England for participation in the big races of South America. With. in the last week two such animals have been shipped to Brazil. They are Napolyon, 4, by iolymelus — St. Josephine, by St. Denis, which was rather a failure in this country, and Holbeaeh, a rough and ready galloper, Which will be likely to more than hold his own In South American racing of the best class. He and Xapolyon are both destined to meet in a big 0,000 race which is run at Rio de Janeiro in September. Holbeaeh is six years old and entire. He is a chestnut, by King William — Expectation, by Lord Bobs, and a sound and generous racer. Rio de Janeiro has a good course, which is slightly short of a mile. It is to be extended and improved alter this year. Holbeaeh was bought by Senor Linneo de Paula Machcdo, who is president of the Rio Jockey Club. Both horses aie on their way to Brazil. * - -
