DBEAM THAT COMES TEUE An extraordinary story of a dream in con ¬ nection with the Melbourne Cup is told An owner of horses had a very promising young ¬ ster entered Many months before it was run he dreamt that he saw the horse sad ¬ dled for the race and come out for it ridden by a jockey dressed in his colors but with a large mourning band on his arm and ho saw the horse win easily So vivid was the dream that he told it to one of his friends the next day and half thought of acting on it but finally did not do so soHis His friend was however more deeply im ¬ pressed and knowing that the colt vas a very good one though quite unthought of by the public he invested J5000 on the off chance and got the long odds of 80 to 1 against him Before the race the owner died and it was lucky that by Australian rules the death of a nominator does not cancel an entry since the horse did come out for that race in his late owners colors and the jockey out of respect did have a mourning band on his arm and the horse did win the race and the speculator did win 5100000 by the performance performanceThe The winner of the bet made a present of the whole sum to his friends widow who was left very poorly off at her husbands death
