FIND BEST COLLYER GUILTY LOUISVILLE Ky May 24 Bert E Coll yer Chicago sporting writer was found guilty on a charge of criminal libel by a jury here yesterday and his punishment fixed at a fine of 15000 and a sentence of thirty days in jail The prosecution of Collyer was instituted by R D Dick Wil ¬ liams Louisville turfman and was based on an article published in Collyers Eye June 18 1921 1921The The defendant did not take the stand it being explained by his counsel that the prose ¬ cution had failed to introduce any evidence tending to connect Collyer officially with the publication Collyers Eye Collyer was ad ¬ mitted to 515000 bond pending appeal
