The second sum- t; mer race meeting of the Connaught Park Jockey Club, Ottawa, will continue from Friday, August 25, to Friday, September 1, in- 1 elusive. It was thought for a time that a 1 change in the dates would be necessary, but c arrangements have been made which will d obviate that necessity. The Connaught Park . n Jockey Club will run a special from Fort i Erie to Ottawa, following the second meet- J I ing of the Niagara Racing Association there, j j and on the night of the wir.dup of the Wind- i 0 sor meeting at Windsor, Thursday, August j 24, a special will also be run from Windsor " to Ottawa. 1 Thi3 special has been chartered by Com- J mander J. K. L. Ross, president of the Mon- treal Jockey Club. It will leave Windsor im- 1 mediately after the last race, and will run 1; through to Ottawa in about fourteen hours, 0 arriving there early the morning of August 25, opening day at Connaught Park. ThLs ; v Windsor special will bring the oflicials, the owners and about 300 horses. Arrangements have also been made to get horses up from Montreal to Ottawa, as Presi- s dent Belcourt and his conferees in the Con- r naught Park Jockey Club look for the ban- 1 ner meeting of the year at Ottawa. E The Connaught Park Jockey Club has raised its purses by several thousand doliars, , and conditions are being made for races so a3 to appeal to all classes. The Connaught Park f meeting will, of course, take place under the j 1 jurisdiction of the Canadian Racing Associa- j f tions, and under the patronage of their ex- j ; 1 cellcncies Lord and Lady Byng. j j The book of conditions is being printed, and j j c will be distributed to the horsemen in a week j j or so. Arrangements have been made for 1 extra stabling accommodation, and horse- 1 men desiring reservations are requested to make application to secretary Gorman ad soon as possible. 1
