CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF E. W. Moore at private terms purchased the contract that M. Hackett held on the apprentice R. Flynn. The apprentice expires next April. J. "W. Bean reports that he has applied for the name Flat Tire for the Meridian-Sweet Flowers colt at present at Silver Springs, Md. Flat Tire is trainer M. C. Kel-leys nickname. There will be no racing in the United States on Monday, July 31. Empire closes today and Saratoga does not begin until Tuesday. In Canada, Hamilton and Kempton Park will be in operation.
