CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF Cyclops, winner of the Sales Stakes, cost Mr. Gerry ,000 as a yearling. Startle, the beautiful three-year-old filly, is in grand form at Saratoga. She worked one mile and an eighth Thursday in 1:53, displaying great speed all the way. The Salubria Stables mare Knot, a daughter of Jack Atkin, gave visitors at Saratoga a. sample of great speed Friday morning when she galloped five-eighths in 59. Messenger, the colt raced in the silks of August Belmont at Saratoga Tuesday, is a handsome chestnut son of Fair Play and Mission and, accordingly, a half-brother to Missionary, which is by Hourless. Mission is the largest brood mare at the Nursery Stud, standing 16 hands 1 inch.
