tc to H. fi F ai it it g c t to THIRTY LEADING OWNERS With the turf campaign of 1922 well along in its last half, four owners can already point stable earnings in excess of 00,000. The racing public is accustomed to the.names of P. Whitney, J. K. L. Ross and Rancocas Stable figuring as principal winners in such returns, but not so in the case of R. T. Wilson. That well-esteemed turfman has long figured respectably in our annual turf statistics, but never before as a major winning owner. For the first time his stable shows above the 00,000 mark, and this because of the speed and good fortune of his homebred Pillory. The stable of H. P. Whitney is now well in the lead and its resources are so great that seems entirely probable it will maintain its present pride of place to the end of the-year. Such imposing factors as the Hopeful Stakes, Futurity, Maryland Futurity and Latonia Championship Stakes will decide the leadership, but no owner has, on paper, a better chance appropriate those splendid prizes of the late summer and autumn racing campaign than Harry Payne Whitney. To date the pleasing stable accounts of the thirty leading owners of 1922 are: Won in Leading Winner Won in Leading Winner 1921. Owner. in 1921. 1st. 2d. 3d. 1922. in 1922. 41,680 Whitney, II.
