COFFROTH SPECIAL PLAN Ten AU-Steel Horse Cars to Take Maryland Shipment West. - .T. K. L. Ross, E. B. McLean and Other Prom-- incnt Turfmen to Send Rcnrescnta-- fives to Tijuana Track. BALTIMORE. Md., October 30. Charles Primrose, the veteran turfman and eastern representative of the Tijuana Jockey Club, had completed arrangements for what, he says is the first all-steel horse special from coast to coast. In other words, he has arranged a considerable train for the accommodation of horsemen who will race at the far-west Mexican track next winter. This Coffroth Special, as it will be known, will consist of ten all-steel . Pulman horse; cars, two Pullman sleepers and a diner. It j will leave Baltimore over the Baltimore c j Ohio to St. Louis; thence by the Rock Island j to El Paso; thence by the Southern Pacific j to Yuma, Ariz.; thence over the San Diego j and Arizona direct to Tijuana. The train will j run on fast express, schedule and in its elaborate appointments it is promised that both horses and sportsmen will make the long journey in more comfort than everj before. I Some of the reservations that have al-1 ready been made by Mr. Primrose are al-; ready consigned their cars. In the first j one there will be a division of the horses of the Canadian sportsman. J. K. L. Ross, j in charge of Henry McDaniel. In the stable ! there will be Muttikins, Hildur, Baby Grand, j Messines, Spanish Maize, Feylance, Bas- j tille. Lion dOr, as well as some likely year- j lings that will be ready for early two-year- i old racing. W. A. Porter, agent for Mr. Ross, will go with the shipment, as well as the contract riders Clarence Turner, A. Claver. E. Harbourne and P. Walls. j For the second car there have been signed . up the horses of A. C. Bostwick and Ed-1 ward B. McLean, the Washington sports-1 man. Some of those in this car will be Fair, i I way, Ten Buttons. Knight of the Heather, j I War Victor and Knighthood. These will be j in the car of James Healy. Caligula is one I that Mr. McLean will send and he will j select others to bear his silks. The third and fourth cars have been reserved for Clarence Buxton. It. A. Smith and some other owners who have made reservations. Kimball Patterson will ship four along witli the stable of E. G. Soule in charge of II. W. Hoag. John Crane with some recent purchases from S. James Boden will take out the horses of the Triple Springs Farm in car number seven. They will include Ticacey. Pittston, "West Pittston, Wilkes-Banc. LEffare, Op-porrrtffh, Trajanus, as well as others. William L. Oliver has announced that he will desert Lake wood for the cold months and take Dexterous and Primus west for a campaign. He has becri assigned to car number eight along with Woods Stockton and W. P. Burch. Samuel Ross of. Washington will-show his silks for the first time at the Coffroth trade and he will ship a "part of his stable. W. II. Anderson and Frank Farrar are among others going to Tijuana. - L. T. Bauer will take on Tippity Witchet . and others of his string and J. Croftcn is another to make reservations. Among the riders who will be seen in action at Tijuana are Albert Johnson. L. Ensor, J. Huntamer, M. Fator, L. Morris, James Butwcll, G. and P. Walls, Freil Woodstock, M. Buxton, R. Carter, E. Fator, Lnw-once Lyke, J. Merimee, J. Metcalf, Br Parke, M. Slaughter, C. Sluder, W. Taylor, C. Thompson, A. Tryon, A. Wilson, S". Lowe,! J. Lemming, J. Wallace, I. Fletcher and R. Flyhn.
