DAY OF HUNT CLUB RACING Sport Marred by Showers Most Interest in Between the Flags Race. NEW YORK, N. Y., November 7. Down at t big Belmont Park today there was an interesting i program of Hunt Club racing run n off by the United Hunts Racing Association. ! The bad luck that has been peculiar to this s association still held good when the day was marred by showers all afternoon, while a a heaw fog that hung over the big course ;e n made it difficult to distinguish the horses in their respective races. But there was a big crowd out and the usual enthusiasm over the sport. Real interest for the hunting set was centered in the running of the Between the Flags s Steeplechase. This was over a timber course t at the trying three and a half miles, for hunters with gentleman riders. While only five went to the post it resulted in a stirring g contest in which Hard Banking, an added !.d starter from the stable of William Ahny, Jr., was winner from Ralph Beaver Strassbur-gers r" Wolferton II., with Joseph Neff Ewings Daybreak third. The other one to finish was lt, Mr." Sinklers Meadow-Grass II. ,. The opening race was the Nassau Handicap, K over the three-quarters distance, and . J. E. Wideners Loyterer was rather an easy 3 winner, while J. D. Killians Beckna, by a rush at the end, took second place from the Marrone stables Daydue. Back of them came John E. Maddens Taffeta and Mrs. S Catherine Lehrers Lena Misha. John E. Maddens Heremon and Blue and 111 Gold were first and second in the running s of the five and a half furlongs of the Belle ,e Rose Park Plate, for juveniles, that was the . second offering. Skirmish, from the Belair lir Stud, was an easy third and the only other er starter was F. S. Von Stades Sky Line. This was the final racing over the New York tracks for this year.
