HERZ SALE IS POSTPONED Dispersal Sale Put Off for About Thirty Days Because of Legislative Conditions. LEXINGTON. Ky., Feb. 18. The dispersal of the Short Grass Stud Farm and bloodstock, which had been set for February 22. has been postponed for about thirty days because of present unsettled conditions in the Kentucky legislative situation, Emil Hem r.nnounced here today. This decision was reached after long consideration of the effect of the passage of the Bennett anti-mutuel bill by the Kentucky House of Representatives last week. It was thought that, in spite of the fact that racii is not considered in any real danger, the threat against the sport in this state might deter bidders from making offers commensurate with the quality of the stock to be sold. When the Bennett bill has been effectively killed by action of the senate, or by the governors veto, the date of the sale will bo definitely announced.
