EPINARDSAPPEARANCESURE Nothing But Death or Accident Will Prevent French Star Racing in This Country. NEW YORK, N. Y., March 2S. Major August Belmont, James Shelvin and M. J. Winn, representing the Westchester Racing Association, the Queens County Jockey Club and the Kentucky Jockey Club respectively, and Pierre Wertheimer of Paris, owner of ths great four-year-old Epinard, have reached an agreement governing the conditions under which the French horse will take part in three races in this country next autumn. Nothing but death or an accident to the French star will now prevent the holding of a series of turf contests that will make thoroughbred history, and following the International Race between Zev and Papyrus, last autumn, should lead to a closer relationship between the turf governing bodies of this country and the old world. Under the terms mutually agreed upon, all the events will be for three-year-olds and over at weight-for-age. The races at Belmont Park and Aqueduct will be run in September, and will each carry an added value of 5,000. The Belmont Park event will be at three-quarters and that at Aqueduct a dash of a mile. The Latonia race will be at a mile and a quarter and will have an added value of 0,000. In all of the races the entrance fee will be ?250 and the starting fee ,000 additional. It is stipulated that the races will not bo closed until July 15. This date was requested by Mr. Wertheimer, who plans to have Epinard, in charge of trainer Eugenu Leigh, in this country prior to that date.
