DAUGHTER OF LUKE McLUKE I.EXRVGTON, Ky., May 13.— When J. O. Keene mated Luke McLuke with La Ven-gunza he stated that he Imped by doubling the Trentcn blood to produce an exceptional thoroughbred. The issue of that mating was Nellie Morse, winner of the Pr.akness yesterday, and that answers the question as to whether or not Keencs expectations were realized. La Yenganza is dead. She was the Jam of Manager Waite. Luke McLuke now is in the stud at the Leooa Farm, near Chicago, he having been sold last year by Keene for a long price to John Hertz, Lead of the Yellow Cab Company. "Luke McLuke is destined to sire a e;reat race horse," said Keene, and I know that I should not have patted with him, but Hertl was willing to pay my price and it would be foily for me, tinder the circumstances, to take the risk in keeping him. Keene invested the money for which he sold Luke McLuke in Raceland, the new track near Ashland, of which he is general manager and which is to open July 10. , — -a
