IN MEMORIAM 128 POUNDS Weights "Announced for Covington Handicap, Feature of Opening Day Program. LATONLV, Ky.. Sept. 10. "Weights announced for the fifty eligibles for the Covington Handicap, the first of the important fixtures to be decided at the Latonia fall meeting, starting Saturday, assures a crack field of thoroughbreds to measure strides for the rich prize. The Kentucky Jockey Club board of han-dicappers, have assigned post of honor to In Memoriam, Carl "Wiedemann3 slashing four-year-old, and which incidentally is being prepared for the Third International Special to be run over the beautiful Milldale course. In Memoriam will shoulder an impost of 12S pounds, while Actuary, which ran in such splendid style during the summer meeting is slated to carry 127. The weights range down ; to 95 pounds, which impost is allotted to j Sayno and Llewellyn. Several eastern cracks are among the eligibles. The list includes Aga Khan, winner of the Lawrence Realization last Saturday ; Ladkin, Flames and Lucky Play, as well as Shuffle Along, which was rated one of the best handicap thoroughbreds on the Canadian circuit this year. There is a possibility that Black Gold, the champion Derby winner of the year ana rated by western horsemen as the king-pin of the three-year-old division, may be among the starters. Black Gold, in the event trainer "Webb sends him to the post, will be asked to shoulder 120 pounds. Other eligibles for the race are Better Luck, Bob Tail, Little Chief, Princess Doreen, Chacolet, Altawood, Glide, Giblon and numerous other high-class horses.
