A. L. KIRBYS RESIGNATION Relinquishes Position as Trainer of Jeff Livingston Stable Because of 111 Health. LATONIA, Ky., Sept. 10. A. L. Kirby has relinquished his position as trainer of the Jefferson Livingston stable, owing to the condition of his health, which has been poor the last year. Kirby was advised by his physician to take this step, as the work of handling a large establishment was too severe a strain upon him. Kirby has a few horses of his own in training at Latonia and to these he will devote his attention. They are Red Arrow and Red and White, full brothers, and a couple of yearlings. The Livingston stable has been racing at the New York tracks since the last Latonia meeting, under direction of Frank Stevens, trainer Kirbys foreman. The horses are now at Havre de Grace, awaiting the opening of the Maryland fall season. During his two years with the Livingston stable, Mr. Kirby has been most successful, and, with Firebrand the star of the establishment, he won many big stakes and purses, including a double victory in the Independence Handicap at Latonia. At the end of the Kentucky season Kirby will take his small stable to New Orleans for a winters campaign.
