PHYLLIS GENTRY raced into the lead soon after the start and, setting a good pace all the way, won easing up. SORLINE forced the pace all the way and finished gamely. GLORY was close up all the way and ran a good race. SUNBORN showed speed, but quit after reaching the stretch. IIALKI ran fairly well. LA BELLE was outrun all the way. PAUL MICOU raced close up from the start and, finishing en the outside, was going fast at the end. ELIAS O. closed a gap and finished fast. BATTLE SHOT set a good pace, but quit after going a mile. OKEECHOBEE closed a big gap and would have been closer but for being in close quarters in the last eighth. MARINE CORPS closed a gap and finished close up. . LITTLE ANN closed a big gap. ST. PAUL ran well to the stretch.
