GORGET set a fast pace and raced ASAPH into defeat in the first half mile, but tired slightly near the end. MONTIFRINGILLA moved up-with a dash-just before reaching the stretcli turn, but aho tired near the end. ASAPH ran well to the stretch DUSTY MARY was away poorly. MENIFEE raced into the lead with a rush in the first eighth and, making the pace fast, won under restraint. FRIEND ran a good race and would have been closer up, but for being ridden wide on most of the turns. ELECTOR had no mishaps and ran well, but tired in the last sixteenth. THE BADGER began fast and showed early speed in running a fast half. AVARFARE raced prominently most cf the way. ROCKY closed a gap.
