Won handily; second and third driving. DANBY, away well, raced on the outside of the leaders to the last tnrri, then raced into the lead and held it well in the final drive. DESPOT, close up from the start, raced well and finished gamely. VOLANTE set a fast early pace and saved ground where possible, but tired near the end. LADDIE BUCK ran fairly well. MISS GREBLE tired. HARLAN had no mishaps. GAMBLE began flatfootedly and made up some ground. Won driving; second and third the same. BARLEYCORN raced under restraint for the first turn of the field, thca raced into the lead in the last turn and held the race safe to the end. OWEN TUDOR made the early pace but tired slightly when challenged by the winner. RELENTLESS was buffeted about considerably but finished gamely. RIP was already beaten by the three ahead of him when he lost his rider at the last jump. SAN DIMAS lacked speed. Scratched 8514G Warrenton, 137. Overweights San Dimas, 1 pounds. Won driving; second and third the same. SENALDO, suddenly Improved, saved ground on the last turn and, finishing fast, outstayed EDISTO after getting up into the lead in the last sixteenth. EDISTO, close up from the start, wore SLOW AND EASY down, but could not outfinish the winner. SLOW AND EASY showed the most speed from the start, but gave way when challenged. EMISSARY was forced to be taken up in the stretch, when EDISTO swerved over and crowded him in back of SLOW AND EASY. FOURTH RACE 3-4 Mile. May 6, 19241:1040116. Glyndon Purse. MISS WHISK followed the pacemaker closely into the stretch and took the lead, but could not withstand the rush of the winner. SENATOR NORRIS showed the most early speed and set a great pace, but tired near the end. BONNIE OMAR finished well. JOY SMOKE turned into the stretch in a contending position, but could not improve it and tired. LEATHERWOOD was always outpaced. Scratched 85546 H. T. SAM SMITH ran a good race, but tired in the stretch. ZAMA was badly outrun for the first half mile, but made up ground from there and was going well at the end. STORMALONG saved ground on all the turns, but could not get up. MINTO II. tired and quit. GOLDEN RULE set a fast pace easily and finished gamely in a hard final drive. TEN MINUTES was outrun early, but closed up ground in the stretch and could have been the winner in a few more strides. PRINCE HAMLET, also outrun to the stretch, finished fastest and would have beaten the two leaders with a bit farther to go. PRINCE OF UMBRIA quit after following the leaders closely to the last eighth. NOSE DIVE showed speed, but quit in the stretch. WAMPEE finished fast.
