AVon driving: second and third the same. NIZAM, a forward contender from the start, engaged MAlRICE MULCAHY in a gruelling stretch duel and managed to win by the smallest of margins. MAURICE MCT.CAnY was much the best, but met with considerable trouble on the back stretch and, finishing fast, just failed to get up.
