Ky.. April •.— Mantonian. a brown colt by Maintenant— Ionia, which Is scheduled to carry the colors of H. T. Archibald, Chicago owner, in the forthcoming renewal of the Kentucky Derby, is the latest Derby eligible to arrive on the scene of the battle. The colt, together with twelve other horses of the Archibald stable that are being handled by George Arvin. arrived at Churchill Downs Sunday morning from Miami. He worked three-quarters la 1:16 with 126 pounds up. ™6ther horses of the stable to arrive were Despot. Cow puncher, Klkerest and nine two-year-olds. Cowpuneher was unloaded suffering with a slight illness. The two-year-olds are a fine looking band. Their names and breeding are: Crystal Domino, b. r. by Flittercold — Lady Clara. The other division of the Archibald stable. | comprising ten two-year-olds, which wintered at New Orleans, are now quartered at the l exington track. Jockey Steve ODonnell. under contract to the Archibald stable and who has been riding at Tampa, is due to rejoin the stable at Churchill Downs Monday. TK At K IS AGAIN FUO/KN. Trainers at Churchill Downs were again confronted Sunday morning with a frozen track and they had to await thawing out of the course before they could take their charges out for their usual morning gallops. , The Parkview Stables Khinock and Royal Omar went out together and easily stepped off a half mile in :54. Hase, Profiteer and Socialist, the trio of J. K. YVideners Derby eligibks. were breezed in company of three others of the stable. They ran closely bunched with the three Derby colts in the forefront all the way. The latter went the three-eighths in :39Ms and the half in :S2%. Wise Counsellor, after an absence from Churchill Downs of almost it year, returned to that track Sunday morning, but only for a brief stay. He arrived with the horses belonging to 11. T. Archibald, which George Arvin brought from Miami. He will be sent to Howard Clacks farm, near Frankfort, where he will enter the stud to be bred to about fifteen mans. The colt was shipped Bast Danny Miller, trainer of the J. J. Coughlin stable, who has been in the local hospital for several weeks was able to be out Sunday morning. J. C. Ferris, who has been visiting his home in Nashville since the close of the New Orleans season, arrived Sunday. O. A. Bianihi reported that Sadie MeCee has been bred to his stallion. Paffling, at his farm near Dexington. W. S. Ileaton has named one of his two-year-olds Margaret Pose, out of compliment to Mrs. M. P. Schuh of Louisville. Kentucky Cardinal. Dry Moon. Roycrofter and Nose Dive, which meed at Tiajuana, are now en route to LoVfSVtOe to rejoin the other members of the G. F. Croissant Stable.
