ANOTHER FOR LUCILE Stone and Rucker Filly Adds Hinata Stakes to Victories Thistle Ann Second and Princess Margaret Third Three Substi ¬ tute Eaces Track Muddy LEXINGTON Ky May 1 Stone and Ruckers Lucile ah overwhelming favorite easily accounted for the Hinata Stakes for twoyearold fillies which was the stake at ¬ traction on a program of eight races decided over a muddy track here this afternoon George Collins Thistle Ann finished second two lengths back and Princess Margaret from the stable of W M Ingram saved third from C C G Y Hieatts Star Lassie the only other starter The distance was four and a half furlongs and the winner under the guidance of Danny Connelly ran the distance in 554 She carried top weight of 115 pounds which included a penalty of three pounds for being a winner None of her three rivals has succeeded in winning winningAlthough Although the winner did cross over in front of Thistle Ann rather abruptly in the first eighth the interference was slight and considering the winners final margin and ease with which she won probably did not play much of a part in her success After crossing over she opened up a big lead which she held throughout the final threeeighths during which Thistle Ann easily outraced the others Eight lengths back of Thistle Ann Princess Margaret outfinished Star Lassie a first time starter for third place placeThe The stake had a winning value o 3230 with 400 to second 200 to third and 100 to fourth fourthUIAXY UIAXY WITHDRAWALS WITHDRAWALSConsistent Consistent with the stake field which was the smallest in the history of the race small fields started in many of the supporting races three of which were substituted for the original races that were cancelled due to numerous withdrawals this morning morningThe The numerous declarations came as a result of the changed track and the emergency af ¬ fairs were offered as the first sixth and sev ¬ enth races They attracted the cheaper grade of platers platersFavorable Favorable weather during the afternoon permitted another large crowd to visit the track Favorites enjoyed more than average success and close finishes marked the tport tportThe The program opened with the first of the three substituted races and furnished Hail Storm from the Kenton Farm Stable with an opportunity to win his first purse in some time Earl Pool hustled him into the lead after the first quarter and while he tired badly in the final eighth kept going well enough to lead Master by a neck at the end Billy 1C finished half length ba and in third place while DarFur favorite was far back throughout throughoutW W C Goodloes Sada and H P Gardners Mary Gardner which Clyde Van Dusen sad ¬ dled for the second race for older maidens finished first and second as named in a close finish with R S Clarks well backed Lion Heart Sadas winning margin at the end was a half length and Mary Gardner had but a nose over the favorite They fought it out far in advance of the four others of which none displayed sufficient speed to menace the leading trio at any stage stageFIRST FIRST MCLEAN SUCCESS SUCCESSPort Port Gar carried the colors of E B McLean to their first victory over the local track in several seasons when she easily accounted for the third race for twoyearolds under claiming conditions Showing the most speed from the first eighth the winner led there ¬ after and won by almost four lengths over Lady Emblem the favorite Wingo saved third from Union W Gotta Gonow and Largo Light contributed somewhat disap ¬ pointing performances here hereAlthough Although only four horses went to the post for the fourth race for older platers over one mile and a sixteenth three of the quartet furnished a keen contest that ended in a close alignment at the end George McCrann fa ¬ vorite was the winner by a head with Thistle Coot second by a nose before Double O The latter two after racing almost as a team to the final eighth were joined by the winner and he succeeded in wearing them down dur ¬ ing the bitter duel Double O which held a short margin over Thistle Coot as he set the pace succumbed to the latter in the final strides and he suffered some from being in the deeper going throughout in the stretch Fire On the only other starter was outrun although he gained some ground in the final quarter
