ATTRACTS BEST IN COUNTRY Star Three Year Olds Are Named Namedfor for Arlington Parks 60000 60000Classic Classic Officials Pleased That the American Classic with an endow ¬ ment of 60000 and the ten other valuable stake fixtures offered horsemen by the Amer ¬ ican National Jockey Club during its forth ¬ coming meeting at Arlington Park are prov ¬ ing strong magnets in attracting the atten ¬ tion of eastern horsemen is evidenced by the large number of nominations that repre ¬ sentative eastern stables are sending in to the Jockey Clubs offices in this city These entries are due to close next Saturday May 11 and when they are tabulated it will be found that they will embrace the names of practically every highclass horse in the country The number of entries being re ¬ ceived for the Classic in particular is emi ¬ nently satisfactory to the club officials officialsThe The mail has brought nominations from the Arden Farm Stable of W A Harrl man among the number being Cun Edwin and Sun Shadow the latter a three yearold The stable of W J Salmon has forwarded and Sun Shadow the latter a threeyearold olds Dr Freeland Black Diamond and An ¬ napolis and the older horses Display and Black Panther The R T Wilson stable also has made liberal entries among the number being Sunfire and African both sons of Olambala and bred by their owner Accom ¬ panying the stake entries from these stables have come requests for stable room at Ar ¬ lington Park ParkStuyvesant Stuyvesant Peabody president of the Lin ¬ coln Fields Jockey Club is numbered among the more prominent of the western owners to send in stake entries for Arlington Park He has entered all of his best horses in the various stakes and prominent in the list of nominees are Flat Iron Martie Flynn T S Jordan Mino and Laurel Hall The stable also has entered quite a few of its younger horses to the stakes for twoyearolds twoyearoldsFlat Flat Iron now in his sixth year and Mar tie Flynn now a fouryearold were fa ¬ vorites with Chicago racegoers last season and their successes were the source of much gratification to their popular owner Flat Iron raced exceedingly well at Arlington Park while Martie Flynns best perform ¬ ances were at Hawthorne
